I agree with what you said with the first one, these people should have made the prequels.

I do think in the future there will be a new Star Wars movie set in the Old Republic time. It retains pretty much everything that was cool about the "classic" mythology, but the story wouldn't be hamstrung.

I don't have a Mac and I probably won't for a while, so it may be better if you just let Brandon have it.

So I called the new/old Jazz logo, didn't I? I was about a year early, but still right :). I'm glad they went back to it. If you remember my rants about logos, I am a proponent of keeping with a classic look, so no surprise there. HOWEVER, I think they should have dropped the blue color altogether, it's a bit superfluous and ugly, imo. Same with the completely unnecessary gray outline. Hopefully, they keep with the green uniforms and don't try to integrate that blue into the uniforms. I have a feeling the home jersey is gonna include the blue though.

This video is available for live streaming on Netflix, if you have it. If not, you may want to find some other way to watch it. It has to be my fave rock documentary since Rattle and Hum.

I love the first scene where Jack White makes a little DIY guitar out of an old beat-up 2x4 and a coke bottle. For me, you just couldn't pick three more interesting guitarists. It's a treat to see the three of them together talking about their craft and individually visiting some of the places where they played in their earliest days as musicians. Very cute clip of Jimmy Paige playing guitar as a little boy. The Edge was fascinating, as always, and I love Jack White's organic approach to things.

There is a clip of U2 playing some song I've never heard and they had to be no older than 17 with their fresh faces lol. Amazing. I have GOT to get out my old U2 albums.

Robert Plant and Jack White are voice twins and, personality-wise, Jack reminds me a lot of a young Bono eagerly just soaking up whatever he can.

The jam session at the end, was just... wow!

Speaking of Stephen Hawking, he recently spoke about intelligent alien life (for some reason) and essentially gave humanity the advice of 'don't talk to strangers, kiddies,' which I suppose is a good common sense tip, but is this really what he focuses his energy on these days? He is sort of using human nature as a model for making that statement, but by that approach I personally don't think we need to worry about any alien gypsies or marauders showing up at our doorstep, because they're probably too busy back home playing World of Warcraft.

Which reminds me of a fun sciency article I read, which talks about how species evolve with a certain set of attributes that help them propogate and flourish. The brain of advanced species (heck even simple ones) evolves an analogous chemical reward system to encourage individuals to strive for those attributes.

As the species becomes more technologically advanced, some things pertaining to survival that were once difficult to get a hold of, suddenly are plentiful and can be obtained with very little physical effort- energy rich foods for example. This shift happens much quicker than evolution can keep up with, so the reward system in the brain goes on rewarding certain attributes and activities disproportionate to their need. Of course as it advances further, the species then begins to discover easier and more effecient methods of activating the reward center of their brain, and next thing you know-

It seriously was a blast, and even though Seth showed up on literally the last play of the game...epic...dressed in black from head to toe...even more epic...it was awesome sitting in the stands on a beautiful Saturday with my buddies. You guys are the berries.

Brooke and I will be at the Jazz game tonight. I always save my money for the first home playoff game...it is the only game I go to all year. It really is a great way to be a Jazz fan. The Utah football team will hold three practices this week prior to wrapping up spring camp with the eighth-annual Red-White game on Saturday, April 17 at 1 p.m. in Rice-Eccles Stadium. Leading up to the game, the Utes will practice on Tuesday (tackle), Thursday (no tackle) and Friday (walk through). Practices on Tuesday and Thursday are scheduled for 3-5 p.m., while Friday's walk through is from 4:15-5:15. Practice locations are dependent on weather/field conditions.

So I quit my job the other week. I can still do graphics for you guys when you need of course, and signs too. According to a recent speech in Congress made by Rep. John J. Duncan, air marshals cost taxpayers $200 million per arrest they make-- the program costs $860 million/year and they make an average of 4.2 arrests/per year, in case you wanted to do the math yourself. The best part of the speech was where he pointed out more air marshals have been arrested than the number of people arrested by air marshals.

Billions of dollars.... and it would be MORE effective if they just pretended the program existed.

Anyways, I just want to give credit to a Republican for being the one to point this out.

Wow, what a black hole this became. Hey, spring football has started, and I have already taken steps to ensure I will not be attending the spring game by myself. Hey, remember when I went to the spring game by myself? That was awesome.

I finally decided to give In-N-Out a try. I've been avoiding the 1-1.5 mile drive thru line till now.

The final verdict is that (dun dun dun) it does not live up to the hype- as if anything could. Don't get me wrong it's good fast food, as far as that goes, but nope nothing magical about it.

The hamburger reminded me a ton of my fav place, Olympus Burgers in Sandy, um I guess the toasted bun was a nice touch. You'll find 999x better fries at Olympus though, where I eat the fries first then move to the burger if I'm still hungry, rather than vice versa.

So why exactly was I in a mile long line again?

It's official that Jason is coming to Utah. At first it didn't seem like it was going to happen, but he pulled a few strings and has scheduled a visit! So if you aren't working in the middle of the day, and want to postpone lunch for 3 hours or eat dinner 3 hours early, can make a trek up to his folk's house, and be able to leave after exactly 2 hours of visiting because of his "other plans" then he wants you to know that you are invited to see him! Dec 23rd from 3pm to 5pm. I was trying to think of any other time that is more awkward to hang out during a 24 hour period. Every other time you can make some logical sense to gather, but 3-5pm on a Wednesday what the hell do you do?

At the end of the day, Max hung himself. Brian Johnson went out with class and respect...and although he didn't make an NFL squad, he is highly respected here and can get a job coaching or on the radio...basically can do whatever he wants. Max is done. Not only will he never make an NFL squad, but he will also never be respected in Utah ever again. He will be remembered for the 6 turnovers and his mouth...and that is it. Fantastic.

Well Scott and I sure enjoyed the last game a RES this season. Can you imagine how great it was to see RoJo, Sly, Beadles, Reed, Dale, Misi, and Mike Wright out there for the last time? I guess that is all you will get to do...imagine.

If any of you decide to sack up and actually come to the games next year (Justin, you get a pass because of Kia's b-day, oh and Keith because of the holiday...so Seth and Jeff...this is all for you), I have found a great parking spot that enables you to get in and out very easily. I am home w/in 35 min of leaving my seat.

I would end with a good go utes cheer, but I know you don't care anyway.

Now about the MWC expansion. I have mixed feelings. First, the expansion would be cool. But, if this happens you can absolutely plan on the BCS never going anywhere. The only people really making a stink are Utah, BYU, Boise...and once they are appeased, the people in arms about a playoff will drop off considerably. Maybe not entirely, I mean there will come a time when there are 4 undefeated teams in the country and only 2 go to the championship game...but as long as the $$ is coming in, don't think for a second that the BCS conferences won't keep their mouths shut.

Second..I just want to get out of the MWC. Expand all you want, but be prepared with an invitation for Houston to join when Utah bails for the PAC 10. This home schedule has been so bad, and I never want to slog through another 6 weeks of USU, New Mexico, SDSU, and Wyoming. Blah. Give me Oregon, USC, UCLA, Arizona, Stanford, and WAZU baby!

The writer says "I've heard from fairly reliable resources that the MWC was planning to announce the addition of Boise State after the season."

Well it turned out that the few Saturdays I had free this year did not coincide with the few tickets I had this season, so what can you do? I honestly didn't think I had been missed, so thanks for making me think you do care :). Anyway, been really busy, I'm pretty sure I didn't tell you your Gunslinger signs are done, but I can't remember.

Oh sell stocks, buy gold. That isn't me telling you what to do, I just am getting that on record because I'm sort of tracking my predictions to see how good or bad I am at it. So far, so good. My FOL predictions would have made 40% returns (at last count) while the economy tanked.

From what I've noticed, y'all don't care for a long-winded explanation about the whys and whats, but I will just say 2010 should be very interesting.

Funny. I liked it. But seriously, as theoretical physicists, those guys should know time doesn't work like that. If the LHC went back in time, then logically it would have to travel to a new Universe where it would have no opportunity to affect the actual Universe it left. How do I know? Because if it worked that way we would have time-travelers popping up all over history, that's why. In fact, given the near infinite nature of possibilities, we would be completely overrun, littered with them.

That is one of the reasons, given that time travel is probably physically possible, I feel pretty certain the Multiverse theories have it right. Yes, there probably is a Universe where, by dumb luck, multiple time travelers converge on it's particular line of events, but the probability of finding yourself in that world is pretty infinitesimal, and even moreso in one where a certain time traveler would end up on a timeline that he, she, or it had traveled to before themselves.

Anyway, nature has a better way of handling things she finds so abhorrent. She just doesn't let them happen in the first place. There! No time travel necessary. Much easier that way, not to mention less far-fetched.

So Seth and I just got back from Denver where I felt cold like I have never felt before. The Utah game got down to 16 degrees. Seriously it was awful. But the game was great.

Well I had no misconceptions about this team's abilities, so a loss to Oregon was pretty much expected. Therefore BYU's loss made me happy and Utah's loss wasn't that disappointing.

The only thing is, if this is a rebound year, we should be starting Wynn. We need to be thinking about next year or the year after. And no I really don't believe there is even a remote chance of preserving the redshirt of your #2 QB.

Plus to me it sometimes looks like Cain's hands aren't big enough to grip the ball. There have been some really weird looking throws.

Two things people seem to really underestimate: a) how difficult going undefeated is, and b) the value of a good kicking game.

If you want to win very many games you simply can't be going for it on fourth down every time you're inside of the 35 b/c you don't trust your kicker or punter. This isn't Tecmo Bowl.

After we left the game, we had a 2 1/2 hour drive out to the Oregon coast. I put my phone on auto refresh, and every time I checked it FSU was in the Red Zone. I cheered up a little each time my phone refreshed. I really don't think I could have handled them winning that game.

It really has been funny watching it all come crashing down. Last year they lost on the 8th game of the season. This year...the 3rd. How awesome is that? And they all know it is never going to happen for them. If they can't do it this year..with Maxie as a Sr. QB, having won the toughest game on their schedule and all of the other difficult contests at home; well then it is never going to happen. The depression around my office is palpable.

For us on the other hand. Well, I never expected the Utes to go undefeated this year. I am hoping for 9-3. I would love to win the conference simply because it would be nice to have a bowl game in Vegas which we can get to easily. I am optimistic about the rest of the season. I really think that Coach Whitt has things well in hand and that we will come out of this just fine. Can't wait til Saturday!

For me, the disappointment of the Utah game was nicely mitigated by the satisfaction of the BYU/FSU outcome. Darn, I guess we were too early with the champagne, eh Coogs? Makes me laugh..

And do you have any idea how unbearable they would have been if they won? Though in retrospect, now that it's gone, I've decided their excitement and zeal was kind of cute.

Seriously though, before you can wear "BCS Busters" shirts, don't you have to first like ...bust the BCS, for goodness sakes? What nerds..

Minus the mistakes and special teams problems, the Utes have actually looked really good, but those two issues can't just arbitrarily be removed from the equation. You cannot shoot yourself in the foot 10 times a game and beat good teams. They looked talented but inept on Sat, TBH.

On the other side Oregon has looked pretty bad themselves, so yeah Utah can def win. However unless they fix their problems, this team has no chance against TCU or BYU on the road.

BYU is on a 2 game win streak and they act like the have won 10 national championships in a row. Look at this ultimate in Zoobishnes.

Utah can win this game this week. The defense is really good, and if RJ Stanford can keep from holding on to the receiver's hands, we should keep the Ducks out of the end zone. We have the #10 offense in the country (yardage speaking), and are just a couple of tweaks away from turning those yards into points. Cain isn't making stupid mistakes like Brian used to, and that is really encouraging.

I refuse to be down on them...although I was a bit of a mess on Saturday night. We have won 16 in a row!

By the way, I learned this week that a team can do a retroactive red shirt. So, Jordan Wynn can be the back up all year, give the signs from the sideline, even play in the first 3 games..and when the season is over, they can call that his red shirt year. Did you know that? That was great news.

This BYU stuff has gotten unbearable already. I need them to lose immediately.

The U isn't going anywhere this year from what I'm seeing. Way too turnover prone, and a bad kicking game can make a good team bad. This kicking team appears to be one for the ages.
